JOB DESCRIPTION & SUMMARY

A career in Corporate Sustainability and Social Responsibility, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to deliver positive social impact with measurable, long lasting results in the areas of youth education, social inclusion and the environment. You’ll focus on coordinating and overseeing the organisation’s charitable activities, designing and implementing programmes to ensure safe working conditions and compliance with all environmental regulations, and developing policies and programmes to ensure organisational awareness of government legislation and regulatory issues that affect the organisation.

ABOUT PWC SATIC

PwC has recently launched the South African Technology & Innovation Centre
(SATIC), designed to innovate, build, and deploy solutions for our global clients
across a range of technology and transformational needs. We are seeking
candidates who can support our global clients in transforming their approach to
Sustainability Reporting. Ideal candidates will have backgrounds in sustainability and change management, as well as an understanding of how technology can support Sustainability Reporting.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 10+ years of experience leading sustainability reporting programs with a

range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrable understanding of the sustainability regulatory and reporting

environment, particularly UK & EU regulations and emerging trends.

  • Experience leading a multi-disciplinary team to provide sustainability

reporting advice (governance, process, and controls).

  • Proven track record managing and leading teams to deliver on complex

projects with tight timelines.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

DESIRABLE SKILL SETS INCLUDE:

  • Advisory / consulting practice experience
  • Assurance experience, including evaluating controls over financial and

operational/ compliance and regulatory reporting processes.

  • Strong project management skills and a demonstrable experience of

working on multiple engagements and managing your time effectively.

  • Experience in delivering high quality work to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are actively looking for a seasoned senior manager to join our team to support and lead our Sustainability Reporting team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sustainability reporting within a consulting context, a thorough understanding of reporting frameworks, and exceptional project management capabilities.
This role primarily focuses on Sustainability Reporting, providing an opportunity to work virtually from South Africa with the PwC UK practice to deliver a broad spectrum of services to UK-based and global clients.
As a senior manager in the team, you will play a leading role in delivering complex engagements to senior client stakeholders, helping our clients tackle their
sustainability reporting challenges and create value for the future.
As the SATIC Sustainability Practice Lead, you will also support the SATIC leadership team in establishing and growing a leading sustainability reporting team. You will be responsible for building relationships across SA and the UK to identify growth opportunities whilst mentoring and leading a team of consultants to foster a culture of quality technical delivery, collaboration, and continuous learning.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF ROLE:

Managing and leading teams to deliver client-facing and internal sustainability

reporting engagements, including:

  • Current state ESG reporting assessments
  • Upcoming regulatory impact assessments and gap analysis
  • ESG materiality assessments
  • ESG reporting assurance readiness assessments
  • Designing and implementing processes and controls for effective

sustainability reporting.

  • Acting as a sustainability subject matter expert on projects.
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders

(internal and external).

  • Identifying and developing opportunities to enhance service delivery to

clients.

  • Providing support on proposals, thought leadership, and digital assets.

SATIC Sustainability Reporting Practice Lead Responsibilities:

  • Developing junior team members through effective coaching and mentoring.
  • Creating a positive, collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Day-to-day operational management of the sustainability reporting team.
  • Ensuring high utilisation of resources.
  • Building relationships between the SATIC and UK teams.
  • Driving and stimulating resource demand.
  • Performance management of the team.
  • Ensuring the right structures are in place for optimum productivity.
