To expand our sustainability team, we are seeking a dedicated team member with a keen interest in developing and implementing sustainable strategies, supporting our company and working methods in adapting to sustainable principles.
With over 120 staff at our lively and diverse campus in Berlin-Mitte, we are committed to diversity and a responsible approach to the environment, climate protection and sustainability.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaboration in various projects to develop and align sustainable design concepts and model-based analysis/studies, particularly in early design phases as a foundation for data-driven design decisions.
  • Advising design teams on formulating holistic, sustainable design strategies and quantitative evaluation criteria for the analysis of urban planning and architectural design decisions in the early stages of a project.
  • Collection and interpretation of site and climate data analysis.
  • Development, testing and validation of architectural concepts by means of shading studies, microclimate studies, daylight simulations, dynamic thermal simulations and embodied energy calculations with the goal of minimizing CO2 emissions and ensuring high comfort levels.
  • Creation of presentation graphics and data visualizations to illustrate analysis and simulation results.
  • Development of training workshops and materials to support our design teams in applying tools and methodologies.
  • Collaboration with experts in innovative design technologies to develop new workflows and tools.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in architecture or engineering, or a Master’s degree with a focus on sustainable design and/or building physics
  • At least three years of experience in architectural practice or in the field of climate data analysis/simulations
  • Strong knowledge of computational design and building physics (energy simulation, daylighting)
  • A good understanding of architectural design and the interaction between energy efficiency, comfort and architectural form
  • Enthusiasm for innovative approaches and technologies in the field of sustainability analysis and simulation, combined with the motivation to successfully anchor these in our daily project processes
  • Practical experience with German regulations and building standards (Building Energy Act, summer heat insulation, etc.)
  • Extensive expertise in embodied energy calculations and lifecycle assessment
  • Proficiency in Rhino 3D, Adobe Suite, Grasshopper and sustainability toolkits such as Ladybug and Honeybee
  • Knowledge of Archicad and Python is preferable
  • Excellent German and English skills; additional language skills are a plus
