Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Provide timely support of manufacturing to answer questions, verify drawings and provide a path forward to support shipment dates
- Log and follow up on immediate manufacturing issues that require long-term engineering solutions
- Support manufacturing process improvements requested by operations and, identify other needs for review, approval and support to reducemanufacturing cost while maintaining safety and on time delivery
- Create and update workflows and work instructions for manufacturing processes
- Perform Certified Individual duties in support of ASME certifications and train others, as needed
- Support manufacturing planning through drawing creation and ECN process
- Maintain, update, and sort Autodesk drawing files and Vault. Create drawings, models, and others as needed by engineering through Autodesksoftware or other programs
- Maintain documentation of all engineering changes through CRM Project Manager
- Maintain ISO 9001:2015 & ASME quality standards by creating/managing various KPI’s and standard work instructions and sharing with variousdepartments as needed
- Assist in managing BOMs & part numbers by working with the manufacturing and engineering team
- Review and critique proposed plans for compliance with adopted fluid dynamic engineering and industry-specific standards and practices
- Review, critique, and approve proposed changes to engineering standards, policies, or details.
- Perform product testing required with appropriate personnel, as necessary to safely provide engineering designs to manufacturing
- Provide updated product designs within manufacturing limits for machining, materials and tooling
- Review drawings for applicability, machineability and design suitability related to dimensions, tolerances, surface finishes and materials throughoutECN Review
- Support designers with engineering direction on design questions and software & tool training

Requirements:
Experience and Training*
Required:
- Minimum 10 years experience in an engineering role related to manufacturing (pressure vessel experience preferred)
- Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software packages (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Duties require advanced math skills, strong communication abilities, and the ability to understand abstract principles behind fluid dynamics andpressure vessels
- Willingness to travel occasionally based on projects and other relevant Engineering Department needs
- Willingness to work in a hands-on manner relevant to research and development (R&D). This may require significant time in the factory to fulfill the fullscope of R&D duties
- Detail-oriented with strong communication skills including technical presentations to groups of 10+
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
- Ability to work well with others and contribute to a positive team environment
- Ability to work well under pressure and with time constraints, including handling additional projects as assigned
Desirable:
- Ability to generate and interpret FEA results
- Familiar with ASME Section VIII Division 1 code for pressure vessels
- Familiar with ISO 9001 and other QC requirements
- Familiar with Lean principles and implementation
- Familiar with metal forming (castings, machining, sheet forming, welding, etc.), plastic injection molding and elastomer compression moldingtechniques of final parts
Education*
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required
- Master’s Degree in Engineering is desirable
- Required experience, training, or educational requirements shall be as indicated or as deemed acceptable by Blacoh Fluid Control management.
