Overview:
AmTrust is seeking a dynamic and strategic SVP, Product Management to join our team. This role will be pivotal to shaping the future of our Commercial Lines, driving profitability, and ensuring sustainable growth. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing team and be a senior member of the Commercial Lines leadership team.
Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities:
- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with the EVP of Commercial Lines to develop and implement a long-term strategic road map for Commercial Lines, translating strategy into action.
- Financial Performance: Achieve or surpass return on equity targets for Commercial Lines while achieving growth objectives.
- Product Development: Design, write, file, and maintain a diverse range of products including BOP, Package, Auto, Umbrella, Inland Marine, EPLI, Motor Carrier, and Nonprofit products.
- Performance Monitoring: Conduct post-monitoring of new business and renewal performance to optimize profit and growth, prevent adverse selection, maintain market stability, and bolster agent confidence in AmTrust.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with distribution and underwriting partners to ensure alignment on external messaging, appetite, and core KPIs. Introduce new KPIs that serve as effective leading indicators for desired outcomes.
- Automation Leadership: Drive automation initiatives to support zero-touch flow for a wide array of classes while maintaining portfolio profitability.
- Risk Management: Oversee catastrophe risk and accumulation profile across property and liability exposures, optimizing Average Annual Loss (AAL) and ensuring appropriate risk loading in catastrophe-prone areas.
- Competitor Analysis: Observe competitor trends to identify opportunities for product innovation and differentiation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all products and processes comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards, and partner with Product Systems and Compliance to drive structural compliance and risk mitigation.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a diverse team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Organizational Structure: The role will oversee the following teams:
- Automation Team: Focused on driving automation efforts to achieve zero-touch flow and enhance operational efficiency.
- BOP & Package Product Team: Responsible for the development and management of BOP and Package products.
- Auto, Umbrella, and Verticals Product Team: Manages the Auto, Umbrella, and various vertical-specific products.
- Quality Assurance Team: Evaluates agent quality and underwriting decision quality
Qualifications:
- Openness to disagreement and proven ability to foster an environment in which all team members influence decision making and strategy.
- 10 years experience, at least 5 in product management for small commercial insurance.
- Demonstrated success managing or co-managing pricing sophistication, rating plan development, and portfolio management.
- Excellent influential management skills, including stakeholder engagement and motivation alignment.
- Experience with automation optimization strongly preferred.
