Job Description

  • Drive highly efficient financial operations responsibilities including closing activities, statutory requirements in IFRS and CO and closing reporting processes.
  • Support the smooth running of the International Financial Head Quarters in Switzerland, including single principal model, treasury and tax activities, expenses, balance sheets and projected cash flows across the region.
  • Manage performance and effectiveness of outsourced service provider, including budget. Ensure and establish strong internal and external financial accounting controls and procedures, including JSOX.
  • Continuously improve efficiency of financial accounting processes and internal control system in collaboration with the region.

KEY ACTIVITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage all accounting and statutory reporting activities of Santen SA general accounting, AP, AR, assets, treasury including payment process, closing procedure and reporting, reconciliation of all intercompany activities related to Santen SA including royalties.
  • Support Single principal model review, including corporate finance, funding and tax topics.
  • Lead and drive outsourced service provider in delivering best-in class transactional accounting services as when as closing and reporting services.
  • Analyze and report financials monthly in a clear and concise way, by focusing on analytical review, variation analysis and financial indicators. Ensure timely follow up and resolution of open items.
  • Support the Financial Controller EMEA on centralized controlling activities, on business process improvements, on the implementation of regional and global transformational projects; deal with postimplementation phase. Identify and lead SAP developments along with IS team. Report periodically on progress.
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders of FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Supply Chain, Global Consolidation team. Maintain proper quality metrics on key subject matters (AP, AR, cash, Balance sheet) monitor quality and trends over time.

  • Support cost center framework and structure, including invoice approval workflow system. Manage accruals, prepaid and Opex on a monthly basis and associated reviews and reporting activities.
  • Complete ad hoc financial analysis, conduct financial training as needed, prepare presentations for Senior Management and perform project work as requested.
  • Lead or support finance and cross-functional projects implementation.
  • Partner with key external stakeholders (external auditor and actuary).
  • Key user for business system applications.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master degree in business, finance or accounting or related field. ACCA/ CPA is desired.
  • Min. 6+ years business related experience (financial reporting, accounting, including group intercompany activities and legal/tax/ single principal requirement).
  • Excellent understanding of accounting and controlling requirements including IFRS and CO accounting standards.
  • Advanced experience computer/ systems ERP SAP FI/CO, SD/MM, database management.
  • Proven ability to drive external service providers especially external accounting provider team.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Excellent attention to details while keeping sight of the big picture, ability to (re)prioritize continuously.
  • Excellent capability in setting up, monitoring and reporting on KPIs and metrics.
  • Prior experience providing financial support to Pharmaceutical or/ biotech-medtech business activities desired.
