Description:

Are you looking for an exciting new challenge in a place to take your career to the next level? Would you like to join a friendly, progressive, innovative team and play a part in the transformation of pathology services across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw?
An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Phlebotomy Drive Through based at The Northern General Hospital, part of the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology (SYBP) Partnership, for a Band 3 SYBP Phlebotomists.
Please note, this role will predominantly involve working 37.5 core hours per week. However, there may be a requirement to spread these hours between 07:30 – 17:30, Monday to Saturday.
The Phlebotomy Drive Through is based on Longley Lane, it is highly recommended to come view the site to understand how it operates.
If you would like to join a friendly, progressive, innovative team and play a part in the transformation of pathology services across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw we would like to hear from you.
As an integral part of the Phlebotomy team, you will have a key role in supporting the SYB patients by providing a blood sample collection service predominantly based at the Northern General Hospital Phlebotomy Drive Through. The department provides a drive-in service for patients to have their bloods taken by our highly skilled Phlebotomists via venepuncture. The department also provides an outreach community phlebotomy service to housebound patients and also utilises Point of Care Testing devices where appropriate. It is an exciting time to join the SYBP Phlebotomy team as we equip our teams and provide further training opportunities to gain additional skill sets to enhance and facilitate patient care.
The aim of the SYBP Phlebotomy services is to provide parity of phlebotomy duties and responsibilities on all sites where phlebotomy services are under the remit of the laboratory. As such, all members of Phlebotomy staff will be trained to a standard that grants a ‘training passport’ so that they can be deployed on any SYBP site to perform all duties.
You will be working for an organisation which values and respects all of its staff and the community it serves. The Trust is a leader in the NHS and research sectors and provides excellent benefits for its staff. This includes commitments to professional development but also many policies to support employees in balancing their personal and professional lives.
STH operates with a budget of £1.2bn, has a workforce of over 18,500 employees, covers five hospital sites, provides care from over forty community settings, and has an excellent reputation for research.
As an organisation we value and respect our staff and the community we serve. We provide excellent staff benefits; this includes commitment to professional development but also many initiatives to support employees in balancing their personal and professional lives.
The South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology Partnership are invested in training, developing, and supporting staff in all aspects including academic courses from certificates of achievement, registration, specialist and higher specialist IBMS portfolios, apprenticeships and leadership and management qualifications.
We pride ourselves in enabling opportunity across all our sites to develop staff and provide a strong and sustained service for the future.
