Our team of nearly 100 employees supports the LTSA through information system consulting services, project management, customer support, and communications.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Reporting to the Manager, IT Infrastructure, the System Administrator (Sys Admin) works collaboratively with internal technical services, the Business Innovation & Technology team, and vendors to implement and maintain the LTSA’s mission critical AWS cloud infrastructure.
Working in a mixed Linux and Windows environment, with Linux expertise called upon most frequently, the System Administrator works on high availability technology systems to ensure they are performing at optimal levels. This role also involves leading and contributing to cutting-edge technology projects, including server virtualization, containerization, advanced networking, and security initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build, maintain, and support IT infrastructure and systems
  • Perform operational activities including provisioning, administration, patching, upgrades, monitoring, backup, and server/network recovery
  • Adopt new AWS Cloud technologies and actively participate in promoting and establishing company standards and security practices across teams
  • Work with Solutions Architects and Developers in delivering AWS Cloud infrastructure requirements for a multiple account environment
  • Use Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) with Terraform to implement a variety of secure and scalable Cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS
  • Monitor system health using appropriate tools to ensure optimal performance, respond to issues, troubleshoot and identify root causes, and develop and implement technical resolutions
  • Assess, research and analyze business and system requirements, explore alternative options to recommend, and design technology solutions to meet those needs
  • Participate in and provide input to system architecture design, planning, and implementation of new systems and solutions
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, and vendors to ensure all aspects of IT projects and support requests are met
  • Work as an escalation point for Help Desk end user support and help train junior staff as needed
  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Keep current and knowledgeable on emerging technologies
  • Act as subject matter expert for technical initiatives and ongoing support
  • Provide off-hour, on-call support on rotation as defined by customer and business requirements
  • Support the leadership team to set priorities and ensure delivery of projects on time
