Apple is where individual imaginations gather together, committing to the values that lead to great work. Every new product we build, service we create, or Apple Store experience we deliver is the result of us making each other’s ideas stronger. That happens because every one of us shares a belief that we can make something wonderful and share it with the world, changing lives for the better. It’s the diversity of our people and their thinking that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do. When we bring everybody in, we can do the best work of our lives. Here, you’ll do more than join something - you’ll add something! Apple Vision Pro is a revolutionary spatial computer that seamlessly blends digital content with your physical space. It will allow us to do the things we love in ways never before possible - all while staying connected to the people around us.

DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic System Architect to lead and drive system technical designs and roadmaps. You will oversee and analyze key system architectural and implementation trade-offs such as power and performance in a thermally constrained system, analyzing silicon, data flows and driving requirements. This role requires that you have strong communication, persuasion and negotiation skills, in addition to being comfortable with working through ambiguities. You will have the opportunity to work with other engineers for the best standards, methodologies, and practices in systems development. • Decompose user facing features, experiences and functions into associated enabling technologies and modules. • Lay out available architectural options, analyze engineering trade-offs and articulate recommendations to meet product goals. • Work cross-functionally to understand existing portfolio of modules and technologies, derive capabilities and cost functions, and construct an overall end-to-end product solution. • Drive cross-functional alignment through technical discussions, negotiations and executive reviews. • Define and author system level feature descriptions and detailed functional requirements. • Shepherd product feature through the full product life-cycle: concept to product release. • Review, influence and challenge architectural tradeoffs with data and innovative new ideas

  • BS/MS/PhD in Electrical engineering or Computer engineering
  • 10 years of experience in consumer electronics or related industries
  • Extensive working experience in systems containing complex interaction of sensors, actuators/displays, hardware and software with demanding performance and latency targets.
  • Clear and crisp communication style. Comfortable with speaking in the details while adept at up-leveling the messaging in front of executives and/or cross-functional partners

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven expertise in SoC architecture, low-power design, HW/SW interfaces, bus protocols, and wireless interfaces.
  • Working knowledge of HW/SW interaction, operating systems, estimation of compute workload, thermal and power controls in modern SoCs.
  • Previous exposure to PCB technologies, signal integrity considerations, coex/desense mitigation
  • Working experience with complex systems containing motion sensing, computer vision and sensor fusion elements
  • Previous exposure to various display technologies (LCD, OLED, LBS) and associated optical systems

Responsibilities:

  • BS/MS/PhD in Electrical engineering or Computer engineering
  • 10 years of experience in consumer electronics or related industries
  • Extensive working experience in systems containing complex interaction of sensors, actuators/displays, hardware and software with demanding performance and latency targets.
  • Clear and crisp communication style. Comfortable with speaking in the details while adept at up-leveling the messaging in front of executives and/or cross-functional partner
