Description:
Key Skills and Experience for the System Engineer:
- Holds a master’s degree in space engineering, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Has a strong background in complex multi-physics system design and/or experimentation.
- Background in one or more of the following topics: free space optical system development, free space optical channel and impairment modelling and simulation, optical acquisition, pointing, and tracking systems, communication theory, communication system performance limitations.
- Demonstrates exceptional diligence and takes pride in high standard execution of tasks.
- Has experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Teams or can quickly become proficient.
- Demonstrates exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Has experience writing quality technical documentation

With a team of talented engineers, you will be responsible for reshaping the future of space communication with the vision of making faster and more secure communication between all assets in space and on Earth.
Our partner is seeking a System Engineer to join their dynamic team at their headquarters in Luxembourg. You will have a strong theoretical and practical experience in system engineering and be fluent in English.
The successful System Engineer will collaborate closely with the team as they enter an exciting new phase, expanding their laser communication projects for both commercial and defence applications. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of space missions.
Key Responsibilities for the System Engineer:
- Lead the development and validation of system architecture and design analysis.
- Collaborate with consortium partners to translate mission requirements into specifications for laser communication terminals.
- Develop and validate system performance models and simulations.
- Conduct channel modelling and analysis, including the impact of atmospheric turbulence.
- Create and manage requirements databases, system architecture models, and compliance matrices.
- Perform technology trade-offs and detailed technical analyses.
- Monitor and track the internal technical progress of projects.
- Define and ensure the proper design and verification of interfaces between various system components.
- Support system-level and subsystem-level testing, including lab, field, and on-orbit tests.
- Provide technical marketing support through customer briefings, proposal writing, and white paper development.
