DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced system engineer to join our team in advancing cutting-edge optical technologies for our quantum sensing applications. As a system engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimizing the design of our commercial quantum metrology systems. You will be in direct contact with vendors and engineering partners and be responsible for designing and fabricating the first generation of microscopes made available to the wider market.

At Quantum Diamonds, we aim to build a global quantum sensing platform that fosters advancements in diverse fields, ranging from semiconductor manufacturing to biotechnology and chemistry.
As a spin-off from the Technical University of Munich (TUM), we leverage our multiyear experience in nitrogen doping, vacancy creation, acid cleaning, and temperature treatment to create NV diamonds with the required quantum properties our customers require.
We have recently raised a substantial seed round and are looking to hire outstanding people and build a major player in the semiconductor tooling market together!

Responsibilities:
- Design and develop optical systems and components for commercial quantum sensing applications, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Search and identify ideal components for our microscopy setup
- Conduct simulations, modeling, and testing to validate optical designs and optimize their performance.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including physicists, electrical engineers, and software developers to integrate optical systems into quantum sensing devices.
- Directly communicate with our engineering partners to make sure the final product fulfills our high quality standards
- Document design processes, experimental results, and specifications clearly and concisely.
