- HNC / Degree Level in either Electronic Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Ability to both lead and work well within a team whilst at the same time demonstrating initiative and the ability to work without supervision.
- Solid problem solving, decision making and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism.
- Knowledge of P&ID drawings.
- Knowledge of PLC and Scada based Software packages and environment.
- Controls, Automation, Electrical and Electronics System Integration.
- Structured programming languages.
- CAD software, preferably Visio and E-Plan Electric P8.
- Industrial communication protocols e.g., Modbus, Canbus & Profibus.
- PLC programming using IEC 61131-3 programming languages.

Responsibilities:
What you will be doing :
- Assume technical lead for projects in addition to supporting Systems, and other Systems Engineers on all other company projects.
- Produce Functional Design Specifications from customer specifications.
- Produce block diagrams, system schematics, bill of materials and cable schedules.
- Program PLC, HMI & Scada Systems.
- Produce technical documentation, including manuals and test procedures.
- Assist with internal and customer Factory Acceptance Tests.
- Travel worldwide to commission systems on board all types of vessels.
- Conduct Harbour and Sea Acceptance Trials through to customer handover.
- Attend meetings with customers and other departments on and off site.
- Assist with the development and assessment of new products.
- Follow schedules and tasks assigned by the Systems Engineering Manager
