This is a hybrid role requires attendance at our downtown Toronto office (250 Yonge Street) and/or Client office at least 3 days per week, subject to change.

Required Qualifications:

  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with Python programming.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with traditional database technology (SQL, TSQL).
  • Experience in building APIs/RESTful services.
  • Prior experience in DevOps, GitHub, Urban Code, and Jenkins.
  • Ability to work independently, taking initiative to complete tasks and seek assistance when necessary.
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving issues, continuously striving to improve work and achieve goals

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience in Quality Engineering (QE).
  • Networking skills for working on IoT devices and basic troubleshooting

Responsibilities:

YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform hardware, software, and firmware upgrades on multiple remote devices, including troubleshooting.
  • Brainstorm and explore vendor documentation for implementing new features and enhancing existing ones.
  • Lead investigations and analyses of application technical and functional impacts for new business functionalities.
  • Adapt quickly to using and integrating third-party applications.
  • Utilize Service Now Change Management (if experienced).
  • Communicate effectively with other teams and vendor ‘System Experts’ for troubleshooting.
  • Ensure resiliency, patching, and software compliance to meet RBC standards.
  • Assist in detailed design phases for projects, identifying, tracking, and resolving technical issues.
  • Execute and implement solutions to achieve business objectives (e.g., Data Import/Export, Reports, Installation & Configuration of vendor products).
  • Liaise with the networking team for IP reservation, whitelisting, and raising firewall requests.
  • Prepare high-level and detailed technical specifications for projects in accordance with PLC, security, and architecture documentation objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to determine the best mix of development, interfacing applications, and third-party vendor solutions to meet business requirements and project objectives.
  • Coordinate with DBAs to create and modify database structures, recommending appropriate databases based on functionality.
  • Utilize SQL databases, schemas, queries, SQL jobs, and stored procedures.
  • Apply Python coding and scripting skills.
  • Communicate and build rapport with team members, stakeholders, and interface groups using various techniques in an Agile manner.

  • Main Server Stack: Windows Server, SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, Client-Server Architecture
  • Scripting: Windows Batch Scripting, SQL Scripting
  • Programming: Python
  • Networking: DNS, Role of Switches and Ports, Firewall, Routing
