Description:

Dorset is an Integrated Care System with two Acute Trusts, one ICB and one Mental Health and Community Trust. We are mature in our collaborative System approach with regards to medicines, with this post providing a key role in driving change and supporting delivery of the System Medicines Optimisation Strategy.
You will act as the Clinical Expert for EPMA, outpatient prescribing systems and other digital medicines solutions and to provide expert support and advice for any member of Trust staff about EPMA (and other digital medicines solutions) function and use. Provide clinical leadership and direction to digital medicines solutions implementation (e.g., automated dispensing cabinets) including project plans, system development and the roll-out process. You will develop a shared culture between the Digital Medicines Teams at DCH and DHC, creating synergy and driving collaboration.

To be the Trust(s) pharmacy clinical lead for EPMA
To provide professional and strategic System Leadership with regard to digital medicines solutions (including EPMA) and support the development of System-wide solutions.
To work with other clinical stakeholders to ensure that all clinical elements of System C EPMA are accurate and safe.
To be the Clinical Safety Officer (CSO) for EPMA and other Digital Medicines Solutions, working closely with the Trust(s) Lead CSO(s).
To contribute to the development of pharmacovigilance and patient safety tools, such as clinical prioritisation tools, utilising data within EPMA and other systems to improve efficiencies and patient care.
To deputise for the Chief Pharmacist(s) for all matters relating to EPMA and digital medicines solutions.
To network with other ‘like’ organisations with regard to EPMA (national and regional).
To lead on all procedural and training documentation development related to EPMA and other digital medicines solutions.
Work closely with the Medication Safety Officer(s) to use innovation to improve patient outcomes and experience.
To develop services across the Trust(s), ensuring a cohesive Trust-wide approach and adherence to core clinical pharmacy standards with a view to minimising risk and striving for excellence.
To act as a mentor to directly employed and visiting pharmacy staff (under-graduate and post-graduate), as appropriate.
