Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

Shapes and delivers best in class contracting and vendor management strategies in support of an overall category (e.g. Cardiovascular Laboratory Supplies Preference Surgical or General Medical Supplies etc.) spend strategy.

EDUCATION

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting Finance or Business/Healthcare Administration is required with graduate level education preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of three years of contracting and or supply chain experience with evidence of progressive increasing responsibility.
  • Experience with and literate in supply chain computer applications Microsoft Office applications and user knowledge of each to achieve Supply Chain goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with the category leader develops RFX and contracting strategies for specified categories of spend to meet or exceed planned category goals
  • Manages a category-specific portfolio of CHI agreements and is the enterprise expert on the relevant HPG portfolio for that category
  • Leads all category RFI/RFP processes; prepares complex solicitations and reviews specialized and/or non-routine proposals bids and contract modifications.
  • Drafts and manages negotiation plans finalizes contracts with vendors
  • Ability to manages internal communications across category team and work with key stakeholders (e.g. legal finance operations) collaboratively
  • Have a general understanding of the business case and an appreciation of financial/analytical issues. Works closely with the Data Analytics team for data needs and data collection efforts
  • Analyzes significant and/or unique contract requirements special provisions working with legal to ensure terms and conditions are compliant with appropriate laws regulations and corporate policies and business unit procedures
  • Manages supplier performance and leads quarterly business review processes including evaluating vendor compliance with contracts and enforcing vendor rebates; resolves vendor product or service issues
  • Collaborates with contract support center of excellence to manage pipeline of contract expirations
