The system safety team is looking for a new colleague in times of many interesting projects. Is it you we are looking for? As a system safety engineer you will be able to affect the safety of the products at Saab, covering their whole life cycle. It is imperative that Saab’s products are safe to use and do not cause harm to people, property or the environment. The safety level of Saab’s systems and products must meet applicable laws, regulations, international standards and best practices.
Your role
A system safety engineer has specialised knowledge and skills in applying engineering principles, criteria and techniques in order to make Saabs products safe to use, safe for surrounding property, and safe for our environment. You will analyse and document identified hazards in order to eliminate the hazard or reduce associated risk for a product. This is performed in close cooperation with different engineering areas such as system design, software, mechanics and power. The team consists of eight people who work with system safety and four people who work with flight safety.
The main tasks are:
- Participate in project activities
- Define and perform system safety activities, such as organising risk identification workshops, FMECAs, issuing safety declarations etc.
- Analyse and document hazards in order to fulfil legal and customers’ requirements
- Develop and maintain our system safety processes and integration with other processes
Your profile
As a person you are self-motivated and used to efficiently collaborate with team members, as well as other stakeholders. You are structured and like to take responsibility.
Desired skills:
- Bachelor or master degree in engineering
- Ability to understand and analyse complex issues and problems
- Appreciate working both independently and in teams
- Experience of product development
- Knowledge in safety standards and regulations
- Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, verbal and written
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
