REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills – strong collaborator and able to demonstrate a pragmatic approach.
  • Experience in Capital Markets, ideally in Wholesale banking.
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Experience creating Architectural Blueprint Documents
  • Experience presenting to Approvals Committees
  • Proficiency/certification in GCP/Azure
  • Solid understanding of data analytics principles and methodologies.
  • Experience implementing foundational cloud/Enterprise services (networking, security, account/organizations, logging & monitoring, identity access management, etc)
  • Experience working with private cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) and private cloud compute, storage, micro-service applications, platform serverless frameworks, API gateway, CI/CD, and cloud-based services.
  • Experience in software development and with SDLC process including DevOps practices and tools.
  • Experience developing DevOps, Site Reliability, and Solutions Architecture methodologies and practices

OTHER ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Create delivery guides, assessments, and common architecture patterns for cloud architecture projects.
  • Collaborate with cloud engineers and developers to deliver end-to-end solutions for clients.
  • Implement best practices for backup and recovery techniques for applications in GCP, Azure private cloud focusing on continuous deployment, cloud security, governance, configuration management, and continuous integration.
  • Design systems integrations, ingestion patterns, target and transition architectures, and roadmaps.
  • Resolve Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Return on Investment (ROI) for the data platform and data products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement scalable and efficient solutions.
  • Drive the adoption of DevOps best practices to streamline data pipeline implementation and maintenance.
  • Provide expertise in API integration and data governance for smooth data flows across systems.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends in engineering and analytics.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
  • Collaborating on Capital Markets projects in some of the following areas:
  • Global Markets Trading
  • Capital and Investment Banking
  • Prime Services
  • E-Trading
  • Global Transaction Banking
  • Market and Credit Risk
  • Demonstrable experience in the design of large-scale risk engines, both batch and intraday, serving multiple regions
  • An understanding of valuation and risk measures. An understanding of data dimensionality for different risk measures
  • Experience in building reporting solutions for stakeholders (FO, Market Risk Management…)
  • An understanding of trade lifecycle and trade modelling for risk analytics
  • An understanding of market data lifecycle (curve rolls, bootstrapping) and modelling for risk analytics
  • A high-level understanding of risk analytics and how they operate internally.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and architect robust solutions, ensuring architectural integrity and strategic alignment of technical solutions.
  • Assess and develop current architecture and readiness for implementation, introducing new solutions and modernization strategies for technology platforms.
  • Develop detailed-level design requirements for architecture implementations, optimizing platform and integration strategies for cost-effective delivery of scalable and reliable distributed systems
  • Ensure technical solutions meet business functional and non-functional requirements (performance, security, regulatory, etc)
  • Provide expertise and counsel at an executive level to present architecture options and technology choices in support of business initiatives.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of TD’s application and infrastructure landscape, understanding use cases, business alignment and integration specifics.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver end to end solutions for the business.
  • Identify cross enterprise opportunities for alignment, innovation, and/or enhanced efficiencies.
  • Educate and coach product development teams on Architectural boundaries, strategies, target states, roadmaps, and other reusable assets.
  • Oversee and define development specifications, delivery backlog tasks, system performance objectives, delivery automation and system modifications required to meet business or non-functional objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise and architecture strategy, roadmap, and boundaries.
