We are delighted to be recruiting for a new System Test Engineer to join our team near Malvern, South Worcestershire. With a salary dependent on experience, you will take responsibility for the verification and validation of systems to confirm fitness for purpose. This includes ensuring that requirements are up-to-date and sufficient to allow effective testing, and that clear test plans are in place to do so. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree, possess basic programming ability, and be experienced working with requirements to define and deliver effective targeted testing.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Essential:
  • Degree in engineering, mathematics, data science or other science area.
  • Basic programming ability.
  • CE Marking.
  • Working with requirements to define and deliver effective, targeted testing.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Structured approach to problem solving and design.
  • Beneficial:
  • Qualified in Design for Six Sigma to Green Belt or higher
  • dFMEA, DfX, Python programming.
  • Taking products through CE compliance.
  • Experience of third-party product testing, e.g. EMC and LVDS.

Responsibilities:

  • Verification and Validation:
  • Develop verification and validation strategies, plans and specifications for the assigned systems and subsystems.
  • Specify/develop test rigs and harnesses as required to support the test plans and specifications.
  • Lead the 3rd party qualification activities – EMC, Environmental and safety testing.
  • Deliver test solutions on time and in full.
  • Develop product test specifications.
  • Lead on the resolution of test failures and drive to completion. Make use of the 8D process where appropriate.
  • Identify required resources and facilities (internal and external) to deliver test programmes.
  • Maintain the test documentation set.
  • Ensure traceability between tests and requirements.
  • Demonstrate ability to use appropriate data analysis tools, including some coding competency.
  • Development Activities:
  • Progress assigned development activities and tasking.
  • Ensure work undertaken is accurately recorded and results logged.
  • Engage with engineers of other disciplines within ZXI to support these activities.
  • Support other engineers with their development activities.
  • Provide Support to Customers and Resellers
