Working as part of an in-house Sysadmin team, the primary objective is to oversee and maintain all aspects of the hardware & systems typically homed within a Data Centre.
Cromwell currently host three on-prem UK Data Centres while pursuing a steady migration into cloud services.
This role will require a high standard of competence & best practise when delivering security, design, deployment & optimisation together with a strong & proven ability towards ongoing monitoring, maintenance & fault resolution.

Responsibilities:

  • Become an active Sysadmin team member to jointly support operations day to day.
  • Participate in daily MS Teams stand-up sessions, to engage, share and support each other.
  • Working predominantly with Microsoft Server & Linux RedHat.
  • Working to maintain & deploy on-prem physical servers.
  • Working with cloud solutions within AWS & Azure.
  • Working with Cisco network devices, firewalls, and Wi-Fi Access Points.
  • Working with VMware virtualisation & SAN Storage.
  • Working with MS Exchange (Hybrid) on-prem & Exchange Online.
  • Working with MS RDS (terminal services) and published applications.
  • Engage in Sysadmin related projects to design, configure, and deploy new solutions.
  • Engage in Sysadmin duties to maintain current solutions & services as BAU.
  • Undertake regular OS & application patching or upgrades.
  • Work with InfoSec to ensure systems remain consistent with current security, compliance, policy, and legislation.
  • Work with App Support to deploy new ERP client updates.
  • Work with Manhattan WMS Support to deploy application updates.
  • Apt at utilising diagnostic and monitoring tools to baseline & improve existing system stability and to optimise service.
  • Backup & recovery - maintaining & verifying effective backups occur and can be used for recovery on-demand.
  • Ticketing – organise, prioritise and service Sysadmin assigned tickets within SLA.
  • Document Systems in terms of their use and build details, their configuration, and parameters.
  • Provide support in and out of working hours as part of a formal support rota.
  • Be flexible & available to attend Leicester HQ or UK branches to complete IT tasks.
  • Explore and recommend new features, upgrades or technology that may improve or benefit existing operations.
