Position Summary
The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development, which includes the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values and standards.
Job Description

Key Outcomes:

  • Designs and supports SA-related solutions for various project and operational needs.
  • Installs new / rebuilds existing servers and configures hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Installs and configures systems such as mission critical MPHC on prem applications.
  • Develops and maintains installation and configuration procedures.
  • Contributes to and maintains system standards and ensures compliance with industry standards to meet MPCH regulatory and security standards.
  • Researches and recommends innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identifies approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
  • Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Upgrades and configures system software that supports MPHC infrastructure applications per project or operational needs.
  • Provides Tier 2 support to troubleshoot and resolve all systems applications and infrastructure hardware problems.

Education/Experience:

  • BS or BA in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • 4+ years of system administration experience
