ABOUT YOU

As our ideal candidate, you will be degree educated in a technical discipline (or hold a degree in a non-technical discipline combined with substantial additional experience directly relevant to this role).
Extensive hands-on experience (backed by a strong technical administration skills) in order to manage and maintain the University’s Windows server estate, as well as an excellent working knowledge and experience in the use of Azure administration, Windows Server, Exchange, Active Directory, System Centre Operations Manager, Office 365, PowerShell, and VMware.
You will possess excellent communication skills and be a self-starter that is able to work on your own using your own initiative as well as collaboratively with Senior Technical colleagues, Customers and Suppliers.

Our established Infrastructure and Operations Team are looking to recruit a Systems Administrator (Windows Services). You will work closely with the Infrastructure team, and will be responsible for monitoring, managing, and maintaining the following; Active Directory (providing authentication for University-wide services), Microsoft Exchange (email, calendaring and collaboration), web access for off-campus usage, automated patching, system monitoring based on System Centre, virtual infrastructure based on VMware and day-to-day administration across some 700 physical and virtual Windows servers running across multiple Domains, as well as other business systems running critical applications.
You will also be expected to contribute to the full range of work undertaken by the Infrastructure and Operations team.
