Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS), Space and Launch Organization seeks a Systems Analyst to serve as Operations Lead of a team of operators in a real-time operations environment, as well as oversee the day-to-day operations of a complex system. This position reports to the Operations Manager, leads the OL group, and handles the training plan and scheduling of the team.
The Space and Launch Organization works with customers creating next-generation technologies in space. We focus on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers. Our team addresses all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments. Duties of this position include working within and supporting proprietary areas.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensure successful completion of mission objectives.
  • Serve as the focal for management and customer representatives during both nominal and anomalous operations.
  • Coordinate facility activities that may impact operations.
  • Participate in the development of engineering processes, procedures, methods, and tools.
  • Coordinate, update, and create necessary training procedures and documentation.
  • Collaborate with across teams and with various specialists.
  • Successful completion of on-the-job training that involves training modules, self-led reading and observation, shadowing, and hands-on learning.
  • Support design, validation, technical analysis, and implementation of changes to computing delivery systems.
  • Participate in procedure development and procedure implementation for proprietary software.

This position is expected to be fully onsite in Herndon, VA.
This position requires an active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Willingness to successfully complete a Proprietary Certification program which requires a combination of self-study and on-the-job (OJT) training.
  • Willingness and ability to work variable shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Experience building customer relationships.
  • Experience in space and satellite systems.
  • Experience with Linux/UNIX commands.
  • Experience working in a 24/7 operations environment.
  • Demonstrated strength in attention to detail.
  • Experience adjusting to changing priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
    Typical Education & Experience:
    Experienced (level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience, 9 years’ related work experience, etc.).
    Lead (level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience, 13 years’ related work experience, etc.).
    Relocation:

    Shift Work:

    Experienced (level 3): 98,600 – 133,400
    Lead (level 4): 121,550 – 164,450
