- At least a Masters in Computer Science or Data Science.
- Software Tools -such as Microsoft Power BI
- Database - PostgreSQL, SQLite, InfluxDB, Local First Database
- Programming languages - Python, Dart, Flutter
- Deploying to - Android, iOS/iPadOS, Windows, Linux, MacOS
- Packages - SqlModel, FastAPI
- Dev Ops - AWS, Swagger, IoT
- Machine Learning - PyTorch
- Data Visualisation - Plotly, Bokeh, Vega-Altair, Matplotlib
- Testing - PyTest, Playwright
The primary responsibility of the role will be to:
- Collaborate with the team on conservation and agriculture projects to identify and document requirements. Ensure a clear understanding of their challenges and translate them into detailed technical product specifications aligning with our goals and needs.
- Develop comprehensive functional specifications using agile methodologies to develop robust systems. Ensure the design and development of electronic monitoring systems meet the business requirements and deliver accurate and timely insights for all user categories.
- Analyse processes, workflows, and systems for the monitoring systems. Identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement and recommend optimised business practices, system functionality, and behaviour to enhance management.
- Use data modelling techniques to create clear and detailed specifications for the design. Analyse processes and workflows for system architecture. Ensure the team comprehensively understands how the system operates and how it will benefit management.
- Work closely with the cross-disciplinary team to design and develop intuitive and user-friendly interfaces using Flutter that run on Mobile devices and Desktops. The interface will enable users to manage data efficiently, improving decision-making processes.
- Employ project management methodologies to develop project plans, manage technical resources, and track timelines. Coordinating the successful deployment of functional solutions, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope to support hive health monitoring objectives.
- Ensure the quality and integrity of the systems by creating and implementing manual and automated test plans. Conduct rigorous testing and validation to confirm that the specified business requirements are met and deliver reliable results.
- Conduct in-depth sensor data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and key insights that could impact monitoring. Clean and prepare the data for accuracy, consistency, and readiness for analysis and visualisation.
- Develop clear, concise, and compelling visualisations to communicate insights by selecting the appropriate chart types to present the data in an easily interpretable way.
- Interpret complex data and translate it into actionable visual insights. Communicate these insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders using intuitive and visually appealing designs highlighting key data points and trends for better hive health and management.
- Create comprehensive user and training documentation infrastructure to facilitate system adoption. Contribute to training sessions to ensure that users are equipped to use the system effectively.
- Act as a central reference point for the project team and decision-makers, providing expert guidance throughout system development lifecycles. Offer insights on system functionality optimising solutions to support informed decision-making.
Your primary places of work are on-site at 128 Yanchep Beach Road, Yanchep and when required, various site visits.
The position will be full-time and range annually between $80-100 K, depending on skills and experience. It includes salary and basic entitlements like annual leave, sick leave, public holidays, and superannuation contributions.
