We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with a demonstrated background in electrical systems design, integration, and program execution to join our team. Responsibilities
Lead efforts to bridge the gap between design engineering and manufacturing to ensure smooth production start-up during new product launches.
Understanding and responsibility over key electrical system elements including: wiring harnesses, batteries and chargers, printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), controllers and interface with embedded software.
Establish functional requirements and performance targets with a focus on ensuring ease of assembly and testing in production environment.
Work as part of a cross-functional team to execute complex engineering projects.
Collaborate with internal teams, vendors and design services teams to implement new products and maintain existing control system solutions.
Develop new ideas/hypotheses, conduct quick Proofs-of-Concept (POCs) to validate them and de-risk development.
Actively contribute to and participate in design reviews.
Working knowledge of key industry standards and associated regulatory testing (UL, IEC, EMC, ESD, EFT). Applying those applicable standards and ensuring design compliance.
Evaluating design risk using tools like DFMEA and HARA.
Provide technical support for current production products (production support, quality, and margin improvement projects).
Education and Experience
BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 4+ years of experience.
Hands-on experience in electrical design, implementation and deployment of control solutions.
Experience with electrical component integration including: harnessing, connectors, cable routing, mechanical protection (sleeving), and electrical protection (fuses, circuit breakers).
Experience working on cross-functional teams (Mechanical, Hardware, Systems, Software, Production, Supply Chain, etc.).
Experience in requirements decomposition, development, authoring, and verification. Experience with requirements management tools and interface control documentation.
Experience with task management tools and defect tracking tools (Jira).
Preferred Experience
Prior electric vehicle electrical system design highly desirable.
Experience with an object-oriented programming language such as C#, Python, or C++.
Experience with communication interfaces and networks including CAN, RS-232, Ethernet, and USB.
Power electronics, power systems, and closed loop control systems experience preferred.
Experience with production support and automated end of line testing.
Experience with technical support of quality and cost improvements of current production products.

Ability to simplify and present complex technical information to internal and external stakeholders.
