About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join our JORN Program based at Adelaide reporting to the Systems Team Lead.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.
The Systems Engineer works with other members of the Systems Team, under direction and in support of the Systems Engineering Manager. They will also work with the other project design (software, hardware, mechanical, etc.) Engineers and support teams to ensure a systems orientated, integrated approach to the project engineering development and verification activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse problem reports, update requirements in DOORS NG and update system design and interfaces in CAMEO
  • Perform system engineering activities including functional analysis, candidate solution development, system design & analysis, requirements management, integration and verification
  • Work on design aspects for a range of radar, software, hardware, ICT and infrastructure components, assemblies and subsystem elements
  • Take concepts through design from requirements to candidate solutions and deployment
  • Utilise domain, discipline and systems engineering knowledge to create and control the system architecture and design
  • Engineer using a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodology utilising a range of modern design tools and practices
  • Work within a large team of systems engineers, liaising with engineers and teams across different disciplines and products
  • Support the Systems Engineering Team Lead in a variety of specific leadership tasks

About YOU

  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain NV1 Clearance
  • Demonstrated Systems Engineering Experience coupled with engineering experience in a relevant discipline
  • A University degree level engineering qualification preferably within a Systems, Electronics, Software, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Aerospace discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in DOORS NG and CAMEO
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder management skills
