Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking Entry-Level and/or Associate Systems Engineers to join its Systems Safety and Mission Assurance team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering (Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Computer Science, etc.), mathematics, physics or chemistry.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- 1 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Pilot’s license and flying experience
- Military aircraft experience
- Extra-curricular activities in aerospace related design
- Knowledge of aircraft systems
- Systems Safety and/or Product Design Engineering experience
- Aerospace Engineering experience
- Mechanical Engineering experience
- Electrical/Electronic Engineering experience
- Software Engineering experience
- Systems Engineering experience
- Human Factors experience
- Experience collecting, researching and analyzing engineering data
TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Entry-Level (Level 1): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Responsibilities:
- Learn about, and participate in the entire acquisition process of military and commercial derivative aircrafts from proposal to preliminary design, and onwards to detailed design, test, and production
- Become an expert in aircraft system functions, failure conditions, and hazard mitigations
- Decompose and analyze systems down to their low-level hardware and software components
- Perform safety analysis to optimize systems design and their availability in the most critical moments
- Manage the vulnerabilities in the system design
- Set requirements, and ensure the integrity of systems and components development
- Interact and collaborate with the customer, cross-functional teams, and program management
