Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
As a Building Automation Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of building automation systems to optimize energy efficiency, enhance occupant comfort, and improve building operations. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and facility managers to ensure that automation systems are integrated effectively and meet all technical and functional requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Automation, or relevant on the job experience
- Experience: Minimum of [5] years of experience in building automation systems design, implementation, and support.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in BAS programming and configuration tools (e.g., BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus).
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, lighting controls, and energy management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with project management and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST), Professional Engineer (PE), or BAS-specific certifications) are a plus.
Responsibilities:
- System Design & Implementation:
- Design, configure, and program building automation systems (BAS) to meet client needs and industry standards.
- Develop detailed specifications, layouts, and system architecture for automation projects.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of BAS with building systems.
- System Maintenance & Support:
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of BAS to ensure optimal performance.
- Respond to and resolve system issues and alarms promptly.
- Provide technical support and training to building operators and maintenance staff.
- Project Management:
- Oversee installation and commissioning of BAS equipment, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure quality and compliance with project specifications.
- Conduct system testing and validation to ensure proper operation and integration.
- Energy Management:
- Implement energy-saving strategies and monitor system performance to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Analyze data from BAS to generate reports on energy usage and system performance.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for system designs, configurations, and changes.
- Generate reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and energy usage.
- Compliance & Standards:
- Ensure that all BAS installations and operations comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in building automation.
