EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 3+ years’ proven experience managing Red Hat \ CentOS systems, including installation, configuration, user\group management.
  • Experience managing large file systems, access controls, auditing, reporting.
  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools such Ansible, Jenkins.
  • Experience with build automation, PXE-booting, Foreman.
  • Experience with coding; Bash, Shell, Python - and version control systems, Git, Github.
  • Experience with Package Managers; software, module, libraries.
  • Experience investigating complex issues and performing corrective actions, such as DNS, DHCP, SSH-connectivity, SMTP services, HA services etc.
  • Experience working with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Jira.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zenoss, LogicMonitor or similar.
  • Knowledge of IBM Spectrum Scale, Spectrum Protect and their services advantageous.
  • Knowledge of container-based workloads (Docker, Kubernetes) advantageous.
  • Any exposure to Public Cloud services, or hybrid connectivity also advantageous.

OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Professional certification, eg RHCSA, LPIC, RHCE or equivalent.

Responsibilities:

ROLE:

The Technology Services Group (TSG) are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our High-performance Computing (HPC) team to deploy, manage and support Linux-based systems. You will work closely with the Moodys-RMS Model Development teams who rely on such infrastructure for the creation of next generation Catastrophe Models used by many of the world leading insurer’s, reinsurers, and brokers. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deploy, manage, configure and support company-wide Linux and HPC environments.
  • Drive continuous improvement through the adoption of automation and orchestration.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices for Linux systems and HPC clusters.
  • Maintain patching and application updates to maintain system security.
  • Manage and maintain backup and disaster recovery processes.
  • Give expert technical advice and solve complex problems.
  • Interaction across TSG towers and other business areas for problem escalation, resolutions, reporting and coordination.
