Job Description

We are seeking a Systems Engineering Analyst with broad system knowledge to join our Acoustics team. Experience in the Airborne or Naval ASW domain, as well as Acoustic analysis is highly desirable. Additional experience in software engineering, hardware engineering, and systems engineering would be beneficial. This role will be a combination of working remotely and onsite at our Ottawa office.

  • Performs requirements analysis and definition for new and updated products
  • Develops plans for system integration and formal system test.
  • Produces system test descriptions.
  • Performs traceability of system requirements to functional, hardware and software tests.
  • Reports to the project engineer on all aspect of system integration and formal test.
  • Prepares formal test reports.
  • Provides support for proposal development by proposing requirements and design for new features.
  • Conducts Acoustic Data analysis as well as Post Mission analysis with an eye to improving product performance.
  • Performs operational testing and evaluation for Acoustics systems both at GDMS-C and customer premises.
  • Develops realistic Acoustic test scenarios for the testing and qualification of the Acoustic Processor products.
  • May perform software development responsibilities as required.
  • Works collaboratively with a team of highly-skilled engineers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates must possess either a science, engineering degree or equivalent operational experience as a subject matter expert.
  • Approximately 5+ years’ relevant experience
  • Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Enthusiastic contributor, willingness to learn new skills and takes on ownership of work.
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills, whether working as a self-motivated individual, a team member or leader.
  • Experience in using generic electronic test equipment.
  • Broad knowledge of the System development process and lifecycles.
  • Broad knowledge of the Requirements definition and management.
  • Background in basic electronic principles is an asset.
  • Experience with software and hardware engineering processes and tools.
  • Experience working in an avionics laboratory environment is an asset.
  • Experience with Matlab is desirable.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
