SYSTEMS ENGINEERING TEAM LEAD – IMPEMENTATION (HYBRID)

We have developed a ground-breaking medical device for the minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of the most common heart rhythm disorder, atrial fibrillation. Atrial fibrillation can cause stroke, heart failure, and other heart-related complications.
Kardium has a fantastic technical team that has developed a product with strong, unique and customer-valued differentiators versus other solutions on the market: The Globe® Pulsed Field System. We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story. Having completed our global pivotal study and seeking regulatory approvals prior to starting commercial sales, we are now preparing the company to grow rapidly in this exciting market.
In this role, you will be joining the Systems Engineering team reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager, and collaborate with colleagues in Engineering, Risk Management, Regulatory Affairs, and Testing.
Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

As a member of the Systems Engineering team, you will be responsible for managing the Systems - Implementation team whose primary responsibilities include requirements management for the Globe® Pulsed Field System.

    Compensation
    Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.

As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.

  • $106,000 - $116,000 (CAD Annually)

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical/science field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional engineering work-packages.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA QSR in a regulated industry.
  • Experience with requirements management, risk management, and verification & validation testing.
  • Experience leading a technical team is an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership of the Systems – Implementation team, working closely with team members to develop and maintain requirements for the Globe PF System (mechanical, electrical, and software).
  • Communication of project milestones and regulatory submission schedules to your team, ensuring appropriate prioritization of systems engineering work-packages.
  • Working closely with technical, regulatory, and risk team leadership to ensure project schedules are met.
  • Identifying and prioritizing improvements to Design & Development documentation infrastructure in collaboration with the Application Development team.
  • Directing interdisciplinary working groups to drive product improvement, while managing your team based on their expertise and strengths as they lead various interdisciplinary projects.
    The Systems Engineering team is flexible and affords the opportunity to work in other interest areas such as technical development, human factors/usability, investigatory testing, and product labeling.
