The Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a broad range of experience levels to include Mid-Level and Senior Systems Integration Lab Engineers to join the P-8A Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS) Software Integration and Test team in Richardson, TX.
The position is full time onsite and will work primarily in a lab environment.
The Integration and Test team provides software integration for the P-8A AAS Training Systems, which consists of a weapons trainer simulator, electronic classroom for desktop instruction, and a mission planning station. This position will support the software team in the integration of the AAS software baselines. The position requires collaboration with the software owners to ensure proper device operation after the software components are integrated. The candidate is responsible for maintaining the lab documentation.
This position will also support lab functions such as upgrades to the operating systems software, firmware, and lab equipment. Additional responsibilities include checkout of device functionality after patches are updates are applied as well as troubleshooting complex device issues. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working independently in a challenging, fast-paced environment. The candidate will support the training devices in Dallas as well as retrofitting the training devices at customer sites.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
  • 3+ Experience with Linux Operating Systems
  • 5+ years of experience and competency in troubleshooting, analysis and problem- solving strategies
  • Experience with scripting languages such as: bash, PowerShell, python
  • Willing and able to travel up to 10% of the time domestically (intermittent for remote installations)
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Level 4)
  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • Linux/Cisco Operating System certifications (e.g. Red Hat Linux+, Linux Redhat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA))
  • 5+ Experience with Linux Operating Systems
  • 5+ years of experience and competency in troubleshooting, analysis and problem- solving strategies

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain P-8A AAS training devices.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to develop solutions that satisfy system requirements.
  • Maintain and update system requirements and update acceptance test procedures as needed to satisfy requirements
  • Integrate software into the training devices, test for the verification of requirements, and document device defects
  • Integrate, configure and test data products that aid in the simulation
  • Develop and maintain scripts used to install, integrate, and configure software products
  • Develop engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs
  • Install and configure Windows and Linux virtual machines to meet cyber security requirements.
  • Perform scheduled lab maintenance operations and cyber continuous monitoring activities in the labs.
  • Configure network switches, servers, virtual machines to communicate in the network and ensure cyber compliance, including firmware upgrades.
  • Develop scripts to perform scheduled lab maintenance tasks and perform system maintenance by reviewing error logs
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and/or network problems to find root cause and collaborate with the functional teams to find resolution.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for troubleshooting procedures, software configuration and installation, standard operating procedures.
