MHICA’s technicians build and join wing assemblies and fuselage sections, as well as perform systems and flight control assembly installations and testing.
Scope of Position

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, a Systems Mechanic is responsible for installation of wire harness on aircraft, wire connectors termination, troubleshooting, performing and documentation of all work tasks while conforming to appropriate manuals and regulations.

  • The Systems Mechanic also installs parts for fuel, hydraulic, oxygen, waste, anti-ice and flight controls systems and rigging (including flaps, ailerons and spoilers).
  • Conducts obstruction and pressure testing for fuel, hydraulic, oxygen, waste and anti-ice systems.
  • Installs CTR FUSE parts (including wire harness and windows installation).
  • Responsible for wing box and central tank pressure testing, cleaning, inspection and final close out.
  • Interprets blueprints, specifications, standards and written technical instructions.
  • Must be physically fit, energetic, agile, willing and able to:
  • work in restricted spaces (tanks).
  • work at heights above 3 meters .
  • work rotating shifts when and as required.
  • bend, twist, walk on uneven surfaces and climb stairs repeatedly during shift.
  • perform heavy lifting (< 40 lbs) as needed to perform the job.
  • stand for 7 hours of an 8 hour shift.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Solid technical knowledge of aircraft maintenance.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings (not a Maintenance Manual and IPC).
  • Experienced in use of test equipment, such as a hydraulic rig and pressure tester.
  • Must have knowledge and practical experience for hydraulic and fuel pipe swaging.
  • It is not necessary to have experience in wire harness installation, connectors’ termination and ring out testing

(Avionics team does this kind of work).

Experience

  • 1 year of industry experience as an Aircraft Mechanic or similar.

Education

  • The completion of a Systems Maintenance course or similar.
