Role: The Systems Security Analyst will manage the clients Communications Security (COMSEC) program, ensuring compliance with the Department of State’s (DOS) procedures and guidelines. This role involves providing communication-level security services across all client offices, both domestically and overseas.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and maintain COMSEC level training and designation through the Department of State.
  • Manage requests for cryptographic services, equipment, and materials for all client offices.
  • Receive, issue, and control all electronic keys, secure telephone equipment, and In-Line Encryptors (INE), including firmware and software updates.
  • Handle the operation and troubleshooting of INE KG175, Secure Data Sender (SDS) KIK20, Really Simple Key Loader (RSKL) KIK30 key loading devices, and General Dynamics Viper Secure Telephone.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations in DOS Communications Security publications (5 FAH-6), Diplomatic Security 12 FAM, and COMSEC changes noted in CSB ACOM messages.
  • Conduct daily inventory inspections of all COMSEC devices in accordance with CSB policies.
  • Perform semi-annual COMSEC inventories in March and September, reporting completion to CSB.
  • Participate in the CSB annual audit and maintain a “Satisfactory” rating.
  • Serve as a bridge for complex cyber issues, utilizing exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

  • MS/BS degree in a related field
  • Top Secret Cleared and must be willing to work onsite. (50to 60% telework may be allowed at the discretion of CO)
  • 3-5 years of experience in Information Security or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of COMSEC protocols and procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with cryptographic devices and systems.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP) preferred.Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
