BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience or a Masters degree and 3 years of experience or a High School diploma and 9 years of experience
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
  • Must have experience with Oracle WebForm
  • Must have experience in programming in Toad or SQL+
  • Demonstrated experience with object-oriented development techniques is required
  • Experience working in a multi-development group is required
  • Demonstrated experience working with RTS application components is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and user staff. Target Salary Range
    $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

Peraton is seeking a Systems Software Programmer to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. This position will be supporting the Division of Agricultural and Environmental Services (AES) and other Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Division of Agricultural Environmental Services (FDACS) staff, will enhance and maintain the existing Registration Tracking System (RTS) database.

The mission of the Department is to safeguard the public and support Florida’s agricultural economy by:

  • Ensuring the safety and wholesomeness of food and other consumer products through inspection and testing programs;
  • Protecting consumers from unfair and deceptive business practices and providing consumer information;
  • Assisting Florida’s farmers and agricultural industries with the production and promotion of

agricultural products; and,

  • Conserving and protecting the state’s agricultural and natural resources by reducing wildfires, promoting environmentally safe agricultural practices and managing public lands

DAY TO DAY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintenance of Registration Tracking System (RTS) / Pesticide Use Permit System (PUPS);
  • Work with the Office of Agriculture Technology (OATS) within the Department to enhance the interface to the OnBase document management system from RTS through a WebService created by FDACS
  • Work with OATS to create a report/notification system to alert each manager, Regulatory Specialist I (RSI), and Environmental Specialist III (ESIII) when they have new scanned documents from OnBase in their queue awaiting approval;
  • Work with OATS to maintain/enhance the RTS/ National Pesticide Information Retrieval System (NPIRS)/Accepted Label State Tracking and Repository(ALSTAR) product interface - including an issue with the product number changing when company/product brands are transferred, causing those labels to be unavailable for external viewing in NPIRS;
  • Develop Pesticide Registration Evaluation Committee (PREC) Reports for Performance Based Budgeting.
