The IT Systems and Data Manager will be responsible for the management and optimization of all IT systems that support our consulting engineering services. This role ensures the reliability, security, and efficiency of the systems and data that our professionals depend on to deliver high-quality consulting services. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, a strategic mindset, and a deep understanding of the specific needs of a consulting engineering firm.

DESCRIPTION AND DETAILS:

  • Systems Ownership:
  • Oversee the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT systems critical to our consulting engineering services, including information management systems, inspection software, intranet, software licensing and systems that we rely on to maintain international standards accreditation
  • Ensure the optimal performance and reliability of these systems to support our professional service delivery.
  • Work with third party suppliers and developers of systems to ensure the system is developed to meet our needs and future requirements.
  • Data Management:
  • Develop and manage data governance strategies to ensure the integrity, security, and accessibility of project data and client information.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of databases and data management systems tailored to the needs of consulting engineering.
  • Ensure data availability, consistency, and accuracy across all projects and business units.
  • Manage data backup, archiving, and disaster recovery processes.
  • IT Strategy and Planning:
  • Collaborate with senior management and engineering teams to align IT strategies with business goals and consulting service needs.
  • Develop and implement IT policies and best practices to support the efficient delivery of engineering services.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance the productivity and effectiveness of our consulting engineers.
  • Support and Training:
  • Provide technical support and training to consulting engineers on the use of specialized software and IT systems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and training materials to facilitate system usage and best practices.
  • Compliance and Security:
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards relevant to consulting engineering.
  • Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures to protect the organization’s systems and data.
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant training and qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Proven experience in IT systems management, data management, and IT infrastructure
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • Capable of working independently while also effectively collaborating within dynamic project teams and external suppliers, actively seeking and incorporating input from others

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Having worked within a consulting engineering, Construction Industry or similar professional services environment.
  • Knowledge of data analytics and business intelligence tools.
  • Familiarity with software development and programming languages.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
