Are you interested in making a global impact? In this role, you will serve as the Tactical Sourcing for the Indirect Procurement team. This role will support global procurement category teams in developing and implementing category strategies and delivering sourcing projects, contracts, and supplier initiatives with the respective global categories.

What will you be doing?

  • Accountable for the delivery of stakeholder requirements for Indirect categories like Facilities, Marketing, IT, Learning and Development, etc.
  • Responsible for the collection of quotes, negotiation, and finalization of suppliers. Use of various procurement tools and techniques for effective purchasing management
  • Responsible for doing supply market analysis, developing category plans, spend analysis, etc. for various requirements.
  • Accountable for ensuring timely delivery of goods and services by supplier.
  • Maintain ongoing assessment of sourcing risks and proposed alternatives
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns
  • Responsible for monitoring compliance and adherence to Smith & Nephew Procurement policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring internal issues within categories are addressed and resolved promptly.
  • Contribute to implementing indirect sourcing strategies, rules, processes, and projects in relationship with relevant categories, including selecting qualified suppliers, conducting routine management, controlling costs, gaining business acceptance and implementation, etc.
  • Consistently seek new areas of cost reduction, demand containment, specification optimization, and value enhancement across all aspects of the business.
  • Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships
  • Optimize sourcing procedures to attain maximum efficiency
  • Drive improvements on delivery times, cost, and quality of materials from suppliers

What will you need to be successful?

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required as a minimum, in fields such as business administration, finance, or related.
  • Experience: 8 years of experience working in the procurement domain with (3+ years of experience in a sourcing and contracting environment)
  • Able to operate effectively as a facilitator and team member in a team setting. Display strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Possesses superior telephone etiquette. The ability to deal with customers in a customer service-oriented.
  • Can work cooperatively with the end user community, team members, suppliers, and management
  • Driven to meet/exceed customer expectations based on SLAs developed and continuous process refinement
  • Has the ability to work independently and with little Supervision.
  • Able to prioritize projects to meet deadlines as well as handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exhibits strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills coupled with the ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral, with external suppliers, and internal employees
