EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

We have a new opportunity to join our team as an OCC Tactical Controller-Water. In this role you’ll focus on reducing risks associated to events such as demand, weather, assets failure, abstraction management and planned work. You’ll play your part in implementing modern technology to improve our water networks and ability to respond to failure, through a process of reviewing the hydraulic area’s which have greater risks to customer supplies and business resources.
You’ll also help drive improved performance in our end-to-end process and the delivery of some of our key targets such as supply interruptions, water quality complaints, planned work delivery and environmental protection. You’ll work closely with the Leadership Team and Senior Controllers to ensure 24/7 & 365 tactical thinking as well as building strong relationships with Water Resources, Intervention Team & our Operation Teams.

The key accountabilities of this role will include:

  • Managing the seasonal configuration of our assets including E2E production planning & delivery
  • Work collaboratively to resolve complex and difficult problems through delivering the Tactical OCC Working Groups process
  • Delivering improvement to Supply Interruption ODI through managing the 2-2-2 post event review process
  • Collating and sharing MI on network performance and opportunities to improve the proactive monitoring & control of our assets – drought, raw water storage, abstraction management, potable water storage to ensure confidence we make the right, proactive controlling decisions
  • Working with the OCC SME’s to ensure that all data on asset performance is correct, visible to the teams that use the data & provides insight to our reporting to the business
  • This role entails out of hours Standby Support to Network Control Incident Management Framework

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

You’ll have strong operational knowledge of our assets and experience of data analysis, producing management information and experience using Microsoft Office and other I.T packages. You’ll also have the ability to act decisively and positively whilst under pressure and be able to prioritise workloads.
As this role requires travel, you must hold a full UK Driving License.
