Description:
WHY LNER?
We go beyond. For everyone. Our vision is to be the most loved, progressive and responsible way to travel for generations to come. Now we’re looking for the people who can deliver this, every day.
Since we took over on the East Coast mainline, we’ve been changing the face of rail travel. Our new Azuma train has brought faster journey times, more space and greater reliability. Our exciting plans to embrace new ideas, experiences, backgrounds and ambitions make this the ideal time to join.
Bringing passion. Being bold. Always caring. Owning it. They’re the values that make us LNER.
Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING;
These are exciting times at LNER. We have ambitious plans to drive innovation and to transform the rail industry, all whilst delivering industry leading customer experience. And to do that, we of course need to attract and retain the best possible talent.
That’s where you come in! We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Partner to join the team on a 12-month fixed term basis. Our office is based in York, but with employees across the route, this role will involve frequent travel across our route. We are open to flexible working location as long as you can commit to being in the office when required and offer us flexibility in return.
Reporting to our HR Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for a portfolio of vacancies and will manage the end-to-end process from approval to advertising, shortlisting and offer. You’ll be involved in a variety of roles from Head Office to Customer Experience whilst also supporting and leading on projects designed to streamline processes and improve our candidate’s experience.
People are at the heart of everything we do, so it’s important we deliver an excellent candidate and hiring manager experience at all times. Working on both internal and external recruitment, you’ll need to love working with people; seeking to understand your hiring managers and matching them up with the best talent for the role.
With the war on talent continuing, you’ll use your creative problem-solving skills to create innovative strategies to attract talent to the business, showcasing LNER as an employer of choice.
This is a fast-paced role, so you’ll need to be comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders and different job roles. You’ll need experience of building strong working relationships, providing best practice advice and guidance.
Of course, with this being such a key role in the team, there are some ‘must haves’ in terms of experience. You’ll need;
- An extensive experience and understanding of the full recruitment cycle.
- Excellent knowledge of equality legislation.
- Hands on experience of candidates sourcing and interviewing.
- Ability to network via social media including Linkedin.
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (eArcu or similar).
- An ability to build working relationships with key stakeholders to provide excellent customer service and become a trusted advisor to the business.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge where necessary.
- A sound commercial understanding and the ability to spot opportunity to increase efficiency and improve performance.
- An understanding of the latest trends within recruitment and the ability to translate these into opportunities within LNER where appropriate.
- An understanding of recruitment marketing and recruitment technology.
- An understand of how we can use data effectively in recruitment from a performance perspective.
- An ability to be an ambassador for our business and able to build relationships with candidates to really sell our business and our values.
- An ability to manage a portfolio of requisitions as well as being able to participate in change management.
- This role would suit someone with inhouse experience. You’ll need to have a strong understanding of talent attraction, with the ability to headhunt candidates for our more specialised roles and be comfortable working to targets
