Description:

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you’ll be recruiting people who connect our communities together - both experienced and Trainee Bus Drivers across the London region. Collaborating closely with the Talent Acquisition Team, HR Hub, Training School, Garage Management, and other key business stakeholders, you’ll drive the recruitment process to ensure a steady flow of high-quality candidates, meeting the evolving needs of the business.

Your role will involve:

  • Managing end-to-end recruitment for all operational roles, including high-volume hiring of Bus Drivers, as well as key operational and support positions.
  • Executing targeted recruitment campaigns, working closely with the Operations Management team to reach the most qualified candidates in a competitive market.
  • Utilising online recruitment platforms, including CV databases, job boards, and social media, to attract and engage top talent, while regularly analysing and optimising the effectiveness of these tools.
  • Ensuring timely and efficient recruitment campaigns, aligning with workforce plans and operational demands to meet hiring needs across various locations.
  • Reviewing applications and conducting thorough initial screenings, assessing candidates’ suitability for roles, and shortlisting the best fits for interviews and assessment days.
  • Coordinating and facilitating recruitment assessments, collaborating with hiring managers to provide valuable insights that inform their decision-making and ensure the best candidate selections.
  • Partnering with Training Schools to schedule and align induction dates with workforce planning, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition from offer to first day of work.
  • Proactively managing the candidate pipeline, tracking daily progress, identifying trends in candidate flow, and taking immediate action to address any fluctuations or challenges.
  • Building strong, consultative relationships with hiring managers and HR teams, offering expert recruitment advice and ensuring a seamless, positive experience for all stakeholders.
  • Meeting recruitment KPIs and service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring high-quality hires while maintaining a professional, transparent process for candidates and the business alike.

YOUR PERSONAL QUALITIES ARE JUST AS IMPORTANT:

  • You thrive in a fast-paced, people-focused environment and love the challenge of finding the right people for the right role.
  • You’re proactive, adaptable, and always looking for ways to improve the hiring process.
  • You take ownership of challenges and find creative solutions to recruitment needs.
  • You’re passionate about delivering a positive candidate experience and building strong relationships with colleagues.
