We are looking for a technology-savvy, natural relationship builder who is keen to make a difference through applying their strong skills and experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist I. This role supports recruitment efforts for critical and hard-to-fill roles.
In this role, you will play a key part in enhancing our recruitment process, ensuring a seamless experience for both Hiring Manager and Candidates. This role also provides market intelligence and sourcing support for hard-to-fill roles. Our Talent Acquisition team members are strategic business partners who play a pivotal role in identifying, attracting, and retaining top talent to support Seaspan’s exciting projects.

The estimated salary for this position is $72,000 - $88,000. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

Responsibilities:

  • As a trusted partner to the business, lead the full cycle recruitment process for the assigned business portfolio on hourly and salaried positions from intake meetings to candidate acceptance on a variety of roles.
  • Using in-depth screening to ensure Candidates possess the right competencies, behaviors, and skills, to be successful in their position with Seaspan.
  • Acts as a primary contact with Candidates ensuring a strong Candidate experience throughout.
  • Partner with Hiring Managers and HR Business Partners to understand staffing needs, develop recruitment strategies, and guide on internal opportunities.
  • Screen resumes, conduct interviews, and assess Candidates’ qualifications and fit for internal opportunities.
  • Provide talent mapping guidance and align recruitment strategy to build the best strategy for each search, including direct sourcing, networking, and researching.
  • Maintain detailed records as well as provide comprehensive written reviews to Hiring Managers on interviewed or screened Candidates.
  • Chair Candidate feedback sessions with Hiring Managers and other collaborators as required.
  • Collaborate with HR Centres of Excellence (COE) in generating and processing Candidate offers.
  • Partner with the HR team to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements related to internal mobility and recruitment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and other recruitment tools.
  • Prepares spreadsheets, graphs, flow charts, and statistics as required.
  • Initiate new-hire workflows, and facilitate internal promotions, transfers, and conversions.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Led various projects related to Candidate attraction, employer branding initiatives, and employee engagement activities to promote Seaspan as an employer of choice for external talent.
