DESCRIPTION

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for identifying, engaging, and selecting exceptional candidates while facilitating full-cycle recruitment activities for various roles across the organization. Additionally, the TA Specialist will support onboarding new employees and participating in projects to enhance the recruitment function and promote a best-in-class candidate experience. This position will be based out of our Canadian Head Office office, located in Nisku, AB.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Post secondary education in HR Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in full cycle recruitment, or specialized recruitment in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency with software systems such as shared drives, MS Office Suite, and Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Demonstrates the ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract as determined by our Michels Canada Transportation Compliance Review team.

DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated ability to proactively source talent through various channels including resume mining platforms, internal databases, LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic knowledge or understanding of the construction industry.
  • Values teamwork and collaborating with other areas of the business to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Ability to build and foster strong relationships with various types of personnel (field operations, corporate office, candidates).

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.   • Source candidates using various methods, including job boards, social media, and networking.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment, from screening to offer negotiation.
  • Conduct comprehensive interviews to assess qualifications and cultural fit.
  • Provide candidates with a positive and informative experience throughout the process.
  • Collaborate closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs.
  • Develop job descriptions and align on effective recruitment strategies.
  • Foster strong internal stakeholder relationships for seamless collaboration.
  • Contribute to projects enhancing recruitment strategies and processes.
  • Conduct employee onboarding activities with a focus on delivering exceptional candidate experience. Support pre-boarding activities, greet new hires on their first day, and follow up throughout the week.
  • Utilize applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment tools effectively.
  • Participate in hiring events, career fairs, or other industry events as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
