Reporting to the Director, Talent Acquisition, the Specialist, Talent Acquisition serves the Mission as a trusted advisor to hiring managers throughout the recruitment lifecycle, in alignment with TSA values, policies, procedures, applicable legislation, operational goals and best practices to attract and hire for best fit and top talent.
This position is accountable to deliver a high-volume of top-level candidates, while providing a high-quality candidate and client experience. This position will promote the story, career opportunities and transformation of TSA, in a way that continuously generates a qualified pipeline of applicants and high-quality hires for current and future requirements.
There is a focus on providing recruitment analytics and supporting special projects that directly impact the success of the overall staffing strategy. This position will also support the delivery of an inspiring TSA orientation program to enhance the new hire experience of personal belonging and mission connection.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- College Diploma in Human Resources or related field
- University Degree in Human Resources or related field will be considered as an asset
- Registered Professional Recruiter or CHRP/CHRL designation will be considered as an asset
Alternative combination of experience and education might be considered
Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar recruitment function leading a full cycle recruitment
- Strong working knowledge of current employment legislation, leading best practices and Equity, Diversity, Justice, and Inclusion principles
- Strong technical skills including a strong preference for Workday ATS & LMS knowledge and experience
- Engaging presentation skills to deliver orientation program to new staff
PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:
- Must be tech-savvy, and have direct experience sourcing and building a talent pipeline
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional demeanor and an ability to represent organizational mission, vision, values and brand effectively and positively
- Proven track record of meeting hiring timelines & targets
- Ability to anticipate needs and communicate a sense of urgency, while delivering utmost attention to quality of service and care to all stakeholders
- Excellent critical thinking, creative problem-solving and consultative skills
- Ability to quickly build partnerships and alliances, earn trust, and gain understanding of operational requirements
- Ability to effectively influence, motivate and negotiate with candidates, 3rd party recruiters, and internal stakeholders
- Proven attention to detail and ability to oversee several moving parts simultaneously
- Tactful and diplomatic in sensitive situations, effectively managing confidential information
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter
- Experience maintaining and improving Applicant Tracking Systems and recruitment processes
- Extensive sourcing experience using social networks, research and personal networks and navigating various recruitment platforms such as Indeed and LinkedIn
- Demonstrated knowledge of strategic and creative sourcing strategies
- Bilingual (English/French) preferred
The target hiring range for this position is $60,363 with a maximum of $90,545. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
