Description:
REPORTING TO: PEOPLE & CULTURE DIRECTOR

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- To lead a team of Apprentice Trainers and development coaches.
- Line management of all new Apprentices for the first 18 months with the development coaches.
- To assist with identifying suitable candidates for annual apprentice vacancies and talent programme candidates.
- To participate in 1st and 2nd interviews of Apprentice and Talent candidates, to include attendance at aptitude testing.
- To prepare the full onboarding experience for all L&D programmes including setting performance expectations.
- Responsible for conducting learning needs analysis across the company.
- Identify and deliver appropriate core skill and management / leadership learning and development interventions.
- Provide advice on learning solutions to fit the needs of different business areas.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience of managing apprentices and apprenticeships.
- Manufacturing experience would be useful.
- Coaching and mentoring experience.
- Portfolio platform assessor experience.
- Background in designing and delivering learning solutions.
- Wide network of learning and development providers.
SKILLS
- Excellent problem solving.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Assessment and internal verification in line with requirements and in preparation for external verification.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Responsible for designing, implementing, co-ordinating and evaluating learning across the organisation including the Xtrac Apprenticeship and talent programmes.
- Responsible for the delivery of different learning sessions, including induction and Line Management training.
- Provide advice on learning & development solutions to employees and foster a culture of continuous improvement to regularly refine and enhance the quality of learning and development services
- To coordinate the Xtrac advanced apprenticeship programme ensuring participants receive appropriate training and education, through liaison with line management at Xtrac and training providers.
SPECIFIC APPRENTICESHIP DUTIES
- To plan and set phase Apprentice factory tour timetable alongside Apprentice trainers.
- To manage the Apprenticeship Levy budgets.
- Overall management of the apprenticeship programme including feedback and progress reports and liaising with departmental team leaders and managers for feedback.
- To attend 12 weekly progress reviews with provider representatives.
- To assist provider representatives with assessing portfolios.
- To assist with identifying the final destination of the Apprentices and accordingly the appropriate on-the-job training to support the course and college requirements.
- To assess portfolios in conjunction with Newbury College representatives.
