Position Summary
Are you ready to take on a pivotal role that will shape the future of our organization? We’re on the hunt for an exceptional Talent Manager to elevate our talent acquisition game across the globe! In this dynamic position, you’ll dive into the exciting challenge of recruiting top-tier talent for a diverse range of roles—from senior backend engineers, build out new teams in decision science to finance controllers and even chief pilots.
But that’s just the start. You’ll not only spearhead the hiring of senior leadership talent but also lead and inspire a globally distributed Talent Acquisition team with a keen focus on the US and UK markets. Your influence will extend beyond daily operations to drive strategic initiatives that matter, including championing DE&I, building out our ATS, and refining our onboarding experience.

Role and Responsibilities

Team Building & Development

  • Manage and develop the Talent Acquisition team (currently a team of 5 globally), ensuring a consistent experience is delivered to both stakeholders and candidates throughout the process
  • Ensure the team is equipped with the skills and knowledge to meet the evolving needs of the company
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that promotes growth and learning within the team.

Process Development & Operational Excellence

  • Own and develop the hiring process, policies and frameworks for the Enterprise
  • Be a key partner to our business leaders when it comes to all things ‘hiring’ - be it hiring process, how we interview, how we train our hiring managers in interview techniques… you will be the face of Talent Acquisition in the business

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Setting key metrics in the team from both KPIs and SLA and ensuring roles are prioritized and filled in a timely manner
  • Partner with People Business Partners to understand anticipated headcount growth, structuring the TA team accordingly to achieve target hire dates
  • Recommend and attend external hiring events in order to drive candidate engagement from unlikely sources

Hands-On Recruiting

  • Hands-on hiring of senior technical roles and other key leadership roles, leveraging the appropriate tools and platforms to uncover hard to reach talent
  • Ensure a world-class candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.

Influence & Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Advocate of FIRMWARE (our version of ‘values’) and support our Head of People Development to role out initiatives which hone in on finding and hiring great Metreans.
  • Be a key member of the team to build out salary bands and level guidelines using market data and research – we will look to you to build this and keep it up to date along with our Head of Compensation
  • By gathering external research, internal data and feedback, identify key themes to improve process and policies relating to hiring
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive recruiting health scorecard to measure and monitor team performance, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness

Skills and Experience

  • Deep experience in recruiting, with an emphasis on technical roles and talent (any aviation experience is a plus)
  • Strong leadership abilities, with 3+ years of experience managing teams of strong, senior recruiters (preferably in both the US and EU)
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders that are spread across geography. Relationship management is your secret weapon and strong emotional intelligence is your USP
  • An empathetic and involved leader, excited to build trust and close partnership with our growing recruiting team to set each member up for success
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment and comfortable making hard decisions
  • A data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze recruitment metrics and make data-backed decisions; considering the quality of hires along with volume and speed
  • Entrepreneurial; You are a hiring process Ninja, with an ability to take frameworks and processes and tailor to the needs of the hiring team without impacting quality or experience.
  • Solutions focussed; Experience spotting opportunities and implementing change to become more effective or efficient both for the internal hiring team and the candidate experience – we always have room to improve!
  • Over-deliver; Ruthless prioritisation ensuring that the highest value work has the Team’s full focus.
  • Time Management; Manages own and the Team’s time and resources in order to achieve personal and team goals
  • Leadership; Leads by example has a coach/mentor approach and is a trusted partner to the team and stakeholders
