About the Role
As our versatile and dynamic Talent Specialist, you’ll provide essential mid-level support to our recruitment, talent management, and compensation leads—ensuring these critical areas work in perfect harmony to drive our talent strategy forward in a cohesive, agile, and integrated way. Your role will involve coordinating recruitment efforts, assisting in a variety of talent development programs, and supporting our compensation practices that recognize and reward top talent, meaningfully. Additionally, you’ll be seen as our ‘wisdom wrangler’, having a natural curiosity to research and uncover the latest talent strategy best practices and trends so we always remain ahead of the game.

What You’ll Do

Boost Recruitment:

  • Review job requisitions submitted by hiring leaders in Workday, making sure everything is spot-on and swiftly assigned to our top-notch recruiters.
  • Handle employee referral bonuses like a pro—reviewing, verifying, and processing eligible referral awards with precision.
  • Dive into the recruitment cycle and provide end-to-end support—scheduling interviews, reviewing resumes, crafting offer letters, and coordinating background checks where required.
  • Safeguard and elevate our employer brand by keeping our social media pages up-to-date and buzzing with positive energy.

Rev Up Campus Recruitment:

  • Lead the charge in our co-op recruitment efforts and manage the day-to-day execution and operations of the program—understanding co-op talent needs, liaising with, and nurturing relationships with our educational institutions, holding hiring managers accountable to hiring timelines, and facilitating the end-to-end recruitment and selection process.
  • Organize and host awesome co-op events—career fairs, info sessions, and networking opportunities that make us stand out.
  • Oversee the co-op performance program, from goal setting to feedback sessions, ensuring every co-op student has a stellar experience.
  • Manage the student experience by facilitating check-ins and exit surveys, and present process improvement ideas to enhance the overall program effectiveness.

Elevate Talent Management:

  • Keep our Talent Management SharePoint site fresh and up to date with the latest program content.
  • Own our employee recognition programs—recognizing our stars and celebrating milestones with flair.
  • Provide rock-solid support for talent management programs like performance, career development, succession planning, and much more.

Drive Compensation Excellence:

  • Gather and analyze compensation data, helping us stay competitive and equitable.
  • Assist in job evaluations and market pay assessments to ensure our compensation practices are best-in-class.
  • Contribute to exciting compensation projects and stay ahead of industry trends.

Deliver Data & Analytics with Precision:

  • Own the delivery of essential reports on key talent strategy data and metrics, ensuring timely, accurate, and insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct a variety of quarterly talent strategy audits to help keep us honest.
  • Manage the talent inbox, keeping responses swift and efficient, and handle invoices in Workday with ease.
  • Be part of our bi-annual Workday testing team, ensuring our systems are always on point.

About You

  • Advanced College Diploma or bachelor’s degree with a focus in Human Resources Management preferred.
  • A dynamic HR professional with a minimum of 3 years HR generalist work experience; proven track record in talent management, recruitment, and/or compensation considered an asset.
  • Strong degree of business acumen and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sharp analytical, research, and critical thinking skills, with a knack for turning data into actionable insights.
  • Creative writing skills – ability to positively influence Teranet’s employer branding.
  • Highly organized, self-starter, and strong time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and numerical data.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (preferably Workday).
  • A proactive, enthusiastic attitude with a passion for enhancing workplace culture.
