Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Human Resources is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Talent Strategy Consultant to join its Executive Search Team (EST). This role is instrumental in identifying, engaging, and securing top-tier talent for executive leadership positions at the university. Reporting to the Director of Talent Strategy and serving as an integral member of the EST, the Talent Strategy Consultant will contribute to fostering an inclusive, vibrant, and engaging campus environment. The role requires close collaboration with hiring committees and institutional leaders to design and execute tailored recruitment strategies for high-level positions.
As a key contributor to VCU’s efforts to attract exceptional talent, the Talent Strategy Consultant will have a lasting impact on shaping the university’s leadership and workforce. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a proven track record of building and maintaining trusted relationships in complex organizational environments, developing innovative recruitment strategies, and contributing to a high-performing team.

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, psychology, communications, or a related field.
- Experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, or related fields, as well as expertise in other human resources roles.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit and source diverse passive talent.
- Proven ability to develop comprehensive recruitment strategies, supported by a deep understanding of recruitment technologies and advanced sourcing tools.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, coupled with expertise in interview techniques and effective resume evaluation methodologies.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing multiple recruitment processes concurrently, with a strong understanding of DEI principles and their effective application in talent acquisition strategies.
- Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and a customer-focused mindset with exceptional time-management, attention-to-detail, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a high performing team.
- Excellent judgment and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive issues and information in an environment with high visibility.
- Technically savvy with experience with HR databases, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft office suite.
- Demonstrated experience fostering a diverse and inclusive environment and an expressed commitment to do so while at VCU.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with executive recruitment and/or executive search process.
- Advanced recruiting techniques experience and strong executive level facilitation skills.
- Higher education experience.
