Job Description:
Venator is currently recruiting for a Turnaround (TAR) Delivery Lead to join Greatham Site Engineering team.
The overall purpose of the TAR Delivery Lead is to carry out shutdown preparation work, including technical specification, planning and resourcing and to act in a leadership role during the execution phase. The site outage calendar is approximately 10 events per year. The role is based on days but with some shift work expected during the execution phase of the shutdown.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Comply with relevant EHS legislation and Venator procedures and rules.
  • Actively drive a positive safety culture during all phases of the shutdown process.
  • Ensure that shutdown maintenance tasks are correctly technically specified, planned and executed.
  • Validate work packs to ensure work is specified and documented in line with Veantor procedures and SAP is used as per guidelines.
  • Chair major job reviews - Liaise with external contractors as necessary to ensure work is planned to a high standard and to ensure that the critical paths through major jobs are properly stepped out and optimised.
  • Liaise with production regarding equipment release and hand back times.
  • Responsible for the planning and preparation of shutdown maintenance tasks.
  • Provide relevant and up to date progress reports with the use of trackers.
  • Provide technical assistance to the central planning team, using specialist help if required.
  • Ensure orders placed for services or equipment are properly specified and competitive quotes obtained where appropriate.
  • Review plant and equipment requirements for the event, monitor materials procurement and delivery to job site.
  • Manage the facilities for external contractors and ensure contractor training and induction is carried out effectively.
  • Act as area lead during the shutdown execution phase managing and coordinating contract companies as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to the site engineering standards and promote a right first-time approach.
  • Support the Turnaround Manager in the continual improvement of shutdown processes and procedures and drive change in making those improvements.
  • Comply with all site standard work requirements (EHS investigations, EHS actions, EHS tools, Leadership interactions, Safety Crosses, Tier Process, Process Confirmations etc)
  • Act as a Champion in defect elimination and asset tactics processes to deliver improved equipment availability and reliability.
  • Implement innovative technical solutions through data analysis to eliminate repeat failures.
  • Ensure all statutory inspections and major threats are addressed in the most appropriate outage, through liaison with Technical Engineers and Maintenance Managers.
  • Identify manning requirements for each outage, manage the supply of labour from the main on-site contractor and additional / alternative service providers.
  • Support post event reviews to identify and implement improvements.
  • Live and demonstrate behaviours that drive a positive values-based culture.

Candidate requirements:

Job-Related work experience, Skills/Knowledge Requirements:

  • A HNC in a recognized trade and/or have experience in shutdown preparations, execution, planning/scheduling.
  • A strong background in piping systems, pressure vessels, rotating equipment and lifting equipment.
  • 10 years’ experience managing a multi discipline engineering team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • A proven track record of driving EHS, quality and efficiency across multi discipline teams.
  • Experienced in operating to a structured workflow and shutdown planning process.
  • Experience of using shutdown planning and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and will ideally have experience using SAP PM planning.
  • Commercial awareness, understanding the estimating and reporting requirements giving best value.
