Responsibilities:

TE TŪRANGA | ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Systems Operator in the Tauranga Traffic Operations Centre (TTOC) , you’ll proactively monitor systems to identify, respond to, and manage traffic and public safety incidents in line with our standard operating procedures. The TTOC is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Shifts are 7 days on 3 days off then 7 days on 4 days off.

Responsibilities of the role will include;

  • Active monitoring of the roading networks within the Bay of Plenty region, detecting and responding to incidents on both local and State Highways.
  • Operation of multiple ITS software applications including extensive use of CCTV cameras and other incident detection systems.
  • Use of traffic control systems to assist in planned and unplanned events.
  • General monitoring of public spaces and facilities cameras for disorder related offences.
  • Recording and reporting public safety and traffic incidents using the TTOC incident management system, ensuring policies and procedures are followed
  • Liaising with emergency services in a professional manner utilising communication systems including radio telephone.
  • Developing and maintaining close relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure agreed outcomes.
  • Conducting reviews using recorded video footage for investigative and enforcement purposes.
