Description:

- Qualified ACA/CTA accountant either in practice or industry
- Proven experience of working in Indirect Taxes
- Strong controls and process improvement mindset

Desirable Skills:
- IT skills with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel, Power BI
- Competent in the use of ERP systems – SAP
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly analysis for input and output VAT, working closely with Finance Operations Team to ensure necessary adjustments are made in a timely manner
- Ownership of quarterly VAT Returns
- Ensuring VAT payments are paid on time
- Working closely with the merchandising team to ensure new articles are set up with the correct VAT codes
- Ownership of the monthly Balance sheet reconciliations for VAT
- Assist on technical VAT research as required and production of papers when needed
- Work with external tax advisors and HMRC in relation to VAT
- Preparing disclosures to HMRC if and when required
- Reconciliation of the duty deferment account
- Suggest and implement new processes and controls where needed, to ensure efficiencies are made or controls strengthened
- Actively support the development of new systems and lead on testing and implementation
- Additional ad hoc tasks
