Description:
We are in search of a Tax Accountant to join our team located in Baltimore, Maryland. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity in the accounting industry. As a Tax Accountant, your main responsibilities will include reviewing and processing individual and business tax returns, maintaining customer records, and responding to client inquiries.
Responsibilities:
- Review and process individual and business tax returns, including 1040 Tax Forms and K-1
- Utilize Tax Software for tax preparation and review
- Conduct thorough and detailed reviews to ensure accuracy of returns and identify any missing components
- Maintain detailed and accurate customer records
- Communicate effectively with clients via email and phone, providing follow-ups as necessary
- Adapt to a mix of paper and electronic file management
- Handle a diverse client base ranging from high net worth individuals to smaller firms
- Proactively respond to professional critique and adjust work processes as necessary
- Ensure attention to detail in all aspects of the role, particularly in relation to reviewing returns for accuracy.
- Must possess a minimum of three years experience in the field of Tax Accounting
- Proven proficiency in Personal Tax Returns, Income Tax Audits, E1040, K-1 is required
- Experience with tax Software is an essential requirement
- Demonstrated ability in Tax Preparation and Review of Tax Returns is required
- Candidates should have a strong understanding of tax regulations and laws
- Must be detail-oriented and have strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
- Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required
- Must adhere to strict confidentiality and data privacy standards
