Fonction – Support the commercial activities of the bank
Taxation is an integral part of banking. It relates both to the bank’s obligations as a taxpayer (company tax, VAT, bank taxes) and to the collection of taxes for customers (withholding tax, tax on securities accounts, tax on stock exchange transactions, etc.). The bank must also ensure that its customers are properly informed about the tax implications of the products and services it offers them.
As a tax expert, you will join a team of high-calibre tax experts with a dual mission: to ensure that the bank complies with its tax obligations and to support commercial activity.
A day in the Life of a Tax Expert
As a member of the tax team, you look at the tax aspects of different projects.
You will first be required to support the retail, private and business banking segments. You will therefore first be an expert in the taxation of individuals and SMEs.
The works combines the need to develop a specialised competence in your subjects with the ability to explain the issues to non-tax specialists and support the implementation of the rules in a pragmatic way.
Responsibilities:
- Be the reference in your area of expertise and maintain it
- Monitor and analyse relevant legislation
- Communicate potential changes to the business and support their implementation
- Answer questions from your “stakeholders”
- Play backup role for other team members
- Contribute to the expertise and tax team
- Representing the bank at Febelfin in your areas of expertise
